About Us

Chinmaya Vidyalaya – Vazhuthacaud started as a Pre-primary School in 1969. In the beginning, the school functioned in a thatched house near the present school. Later, sufficient land was acquired and the present school was built, and the classes were shifted to the new building. Gradually, it became an Upper Primary School and in 1995, it was upgraded to High School

The Vidyalaya is founded by Gurudev with the vision of imparting holistic education and producing integrated personalities where the sanctity of learning and the sacredness of guru-sishya parampara are well preserved. The Chinmaya Vision Programme envisaged by Pujya Gurudev adds a special flavour to our Vidyalaya and makes it a ‘school with a difference’.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vazhuthacaud became a Higher Secondary Vidyalaya in the year 2002-03. We started functioning with Plus one classes, with 30 students in the Science group. Later we started commerce group along with science group. Catering to the needs of the tech savvy generation Computer Science was added as an elective subject from the academic year-2007, which gradually replaced Commerce as an elective. Our first batch appeared for the higher secondary Board examination in March 2004. We have been posting excellent results since then.

The classes from L.K.G. to Std XII are functioning under the same roof with a strength of over 900 students, 50 teaching staff and 15 non-teaching staff. The curriculum for the KG classes was revamped under the expert guidance of Sri. V.V.Joseph in 2006, making it a comprehensive learner centered and activity oriented programme for the all round development of the child In order to bring about discipline, efficiency, leadership and sense of responsibility among students, we ensure that all the activities planned are manifestations of Chinmaya Vision Programme which is identified under four heads, viz., integrated development, Indian culture, patriotism and universal outlook. The Vidyalaya tries to instil in the students not only qualities of leadership but also the self-effacing graces of enlightened fellowship. Special Balavihar classes are conducted after school time to give awareness of our cultural and spiritual heritage. The inherent talents of the students are brought out by encouraging them to join various clubs. To help the students realize their creativity, along with academics, co-curricular activities like music, dance, art and craft are included in the curriculum. Apart from sports, yoga and karate provide avenues for diverting the energy of the students.

The Vidyalaya is a nurturing ground for the students to enhance their creativity, spontaneity and originality along with scientific temper and a positive attitude. We endeavour to provide the right learning climate for the children to bloom into responsible, caring and committed citizens of tomorrow.
